Before anyone hears a note or cracks a spine, they ought to feel a little something stir. Maybe it pairs well with summer weather, maybe it’s loud as hell, or maybe it’s a memoir of a weird era. That first impression sets the emotional thermostat. You can echo what’s inside, play it sort of off-key, or completely mislead the audience as a surprise. After all, the world’s full of that kind of thing, and my cover work makes sure folks know they’re in for a ride.
